HOW IT WORKS

See How GemIQ Helps You Pre-Grade Smarter

Walk through the full assessment flow — from uploading your card photos, to checking centering, inspecting surface defects, and deciding whether the card is worth submitting for grading.

STEP 1

Upload Front & Back

Start with clear front and back photos of your card. GemIQ keeps the image aspect ratio intact so your alignment and measurements remain accurate.

STEP 2

Align The Card Borders

Use draggable alignment guides to mark the outer card edge and inner border. GemIQ calculates horizontal and vertical centering ratios using your manual alignment.

STEP 3

Inspect Surface & Corners

Use GemIQ's inspection tools to perform a detailed visual review of your card. Switch between specialised overlays to reveal scratches, print lines, dents, texture irregularities and other defects. After your inspection, key in what you observe using the manual condition inputs so the grading estimate reflects the actual condition of the card.

Surface Scratch Relief Inspection

Highlight fine scratches and surface imperfections that may not be visible under normal lighting.

Embossed Layer Inspection

Reveal dents, pressure marks and subtle surface texture irregularities.

Corner Inspection

Review enlarged corner previews from both front and back to identify whitening, edge wear and corner damage.

Manual Condition Inputs

After completing your inspection, record observed whitening, dents, print defects and weak corners so the grading estimate reflects the card's actual condition.

STEP 4

Decide If It Is Worth Grading

Review centering ratios, TAG-style tolerance checks, condition inputs, and the overall estimated grade before spending on grading fees.
